My Qualifications
I did an MA in Languages & Cultural Diversity from King’s College, London, where I specialised in bilingualism impacting sociolinguistics and language contact. I have a bachelor’s in English Language and Linguistics from King’s College and an M.Phil. in Applied Linguistics from Cambridge.
My Experties
My expertise lies in my ability to analyse and understand the complex ways language operates in different contexts and cultures. I have extensively researched the interaction between language and social identity, language variation and change and language policy and planning. My proficiency in English, Spanish, Mandarin and Korean allows me to give insights into the linguistic and cultural diversity of different communities.
My Experience
My 16 years of teaching linguistics and language studies at the university level include syntax, semantics, phonetics and language acquisition. I have also worked as a consultant for various government agencies (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) and NGOs (Equal Rights Trust), providing expertise on language policies, multilingual education and language access.
My Projects
I have written several books and articles on language and culture, including ’Bilingualism and Identity: Spanish at the Crossroads With Other Languages’ and ’Language Policy and Planning in Multilingual Contexts. My research has been widely cited in academic publications (SAGE journals, Applied Linguistics) and has impacted language policies and practices in various countries.
